30,930 feeder cattle sold in the state of Missouri last week compared to 31,830 a year ago. Avg. prices/weights:
552 lb. steers averaged $128.73
545 lb. heifers averaged $117.12
552 lb. Holstein steers averaged $87.27
Springer Holstein Heifers $1,200-1,385

Mizzou Collegiate Cattlewomen Invite Fellow Students to "Meet Your Meat"
Mizzou's Collegiate Cattlewomen stepped up to the plate and shared the story of modern beef production with other students last Wednesday, April 28. The young ladies are graduates of the Masters of Beef Advocacy program and put their advocacy skills to work. Check out the article done by Sarah Brown with Beef Today.

MBIC Sponsors "Speaking of Women's Health"
Providing "Food and Health Involved" women with up-to-date nutrition and cooking information was the goal for this annual event. Over 900 women participated in the event and were able to enjoy a presentation given by Heidi Wells, MBIC Director of Nutrition, on "Healthy Grilling for a Healthy You". Participants were treated to a grilling demonstration, were able to sample the results, and received literature about beef's role in a healthy diet combined with exercise and strength training.
