Missouri Ag Coalition Sponsors First Cardinal's Tailgate
"Missouri Farmers Care About..." is the summer theme at Friday night St. Louis Cardinal's baseball games this summer and fall. The first tailgate for Cardinals fans was held last Friday, June 4, with a focus on "Missouri Farmers Care About the Environment". Staff and volunteers from MBIC, Midwest Dairy Council and FCS Financial visited with tailgaters about conservation practices used in Missouri in an effort to protect our natural resources and enhance productivity of our land. Folks who came by received a re-usable shopping bag, a pre-game yogurt snack and animal shaped stress balls. They also signed up to receive a basket of Missouri products courtesy of the Missouri Department of Agriculture Agri-Missouri program. The lucky winner was presented their basket during the game. Future tailgates will feature Missouri Farmers Caring About: animal welfare, food safety and nutrition.
