Feeling Good About Beef
A checkoff-funded consumer survey indicates that consumers are changing their shopping behaviors and, in some cases, eliminating naturally nutrient-rich proteins in the process. Even in today's challenging economic times, it's important that consumers know the benefits of choosing nutrient-rich foods like lean beef for the value it brings their bodies and their bank accounts! To spread the word, the checkoff recently distributed an electronic press kit to food communications and nutrition media. Feel Good About Loving Beef is an information hub that provides quick access to a press release detailing key findings from the survey, plus downloadable consumer shopping resources, budget-friendly beef recipes, beef images, and a link to www.BeefItsWhatsForDinner.com.

Retail Veal Campaign to Kick Off in Key Markets
Beginning this fall, the beef checkoff is funding a new veal retail marketing initiative to help stimulate sales in the retail channel. The new program includes a promotion to retailers with complimentary veal point of sale (POS) materials, funding for meat featuring opportunities such as consumer advertising through in-store flyers, veal artwork provided through the beef checkoff-funded Beef and Veal Ad Planner, and other marketing ideas as part of Phase 1 through Jan. 31, 2009. Phase 2 is being developed and will begin in February 2009 as part of an integrated veal "Go to Market" strategy through Sept. 30, 2009.
